Mapping and Analyzing Negative Campaigns Against Palm Oil

February 10, 2026250 views

This journal analyzes the negative campaign against palm oil amidst increasing global scrutiny over deforestation and sustainability issues. Through a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review of 36 articles (2022–2025) from ScienceDirect, this study maps media framing patterns, key actors, digital channels, as well as geopolitical and trade dimensions. The findings indicate that the dominant environmental narrative, often amplified by social media, tends to be selective and intersects with protectionist interests. The implication is the need for evidence-based governance, harmonization of sustainability standards, and more balanced public communication.
