The Indonesian palm oil industry is entering a new phase as the agendas of downstream processing, energy, and sustainability increasingly converge. The rising demand for CPO for biodiesel, food, oleochemicals, and exports requires more careful management of the palm oil balance to ensure that downstream processing does not turn into raw material competition. On the other hand, the pressure on FFB prices indicates that smallholders remain the most vulnerable link when the market is disrupted, while global SAF opportunities open new avenues for palm oil feedstock such as POME oil and Oil Palm Trunk. The seventeenth edition of IPOSS Insights discusses the new direction of the Indonesian palm oil industry in enhancing added value, maintaining supply balance, and building more sustainable competitiveness.
