Benefits of Oil Palm Biomass

This journal examines the potential of oil palm biomass as a renewable energy source and a circular economy instrument amidst the increasing energy demand and pressure to reduce global emissions. Through a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review of 43 scientific articles published from 2023 to 2025, this study identifies the main benefits of palm biomass in three dimensions: energy (bioenergy, biogas, co-firing), environment (emission reduction and waste utilization), and economy (investment feasibility and local value creation). Although promising, its development still faces technological, logistical, and policy challenges that are not yet integrated.
