May 18, 2026194 views

This journal examines the high burden of global non-communicable diseases and the increasing attention on bioactive food compounds as a prevention strategy. The research aims to synthesize scientific evidence regarding the role of Tocotrienol-Rich Fraction (TRF) from palm oil in the prevention of chronic diseases. The method used is a qualitative literature review with a narrative approach to recent publications. The results show that TRF has cardioprotective, anticancer, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, and immunomodulatory effects through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory mechanisms. Initial clinical evidence supports its potential in reducing cardiovascular risk, diabetic neuropathy, and enhancing immune response. The implication is that TRF has the potential to be integrated into preventive health policies, while also encouraging product standardization and further research to support sustainable utilization in the health system.
