English Language Proficiency as a Driver of Safety, Certification, and Digital Transformation in Palm Oil Sector

This article examines the role of English proficiency as a driver of workplace safety, certification, and digital transformation in the oil palm industry. The background is the increasing global demand for sustainability standards, regulatory compliance, and technology adoption, most of which use English. This study employs the PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review method on 34 scientific articles from the 2023–2025 period. The results indicate that English proficiency reduces miscommunication and workplace incidents, accelerates audit processes and certifications such as RSPO/ISPO, and enhances the success of digital technology integration. The implication is that English language training needs to be positioned as operational infrastructure to strengthen the competitiveness and governance of the palm oil industry.
