Prospects and Challenges of Oil Palm Trunk Utilization as Sustainable Aviation Fuel Feedstock: A Review

This research is motivated by price volatility and the lack of transparency in Indonesian palm oil trade despite its status as the world's largest producer. The study aims to analyze the prospects and challenges of establishing a national palm oil commodity exchange. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 36 scientific articles from the period 2022–2025. The results indicate three key factors: regulatory fragmentation, infrastructure and digitalization limitations, and an oligopolistic market structure. Although it has the potential to enhance price transparency, market efficiency, and governance, its implementation requires policy harmonization, technology investment, and strengthening stakeholder participation to avoid widening disparities.
